The CLC was founded in 2020 with the aim to help Australia’s largest companies accelerate their decarbonisation work. That has been undertaken through a range of activities all built on the principle that by working together and forming linkages across sectors, along value chains and internationally, the challenge for members and the broader business community, will be easier.
The diversity of our sector membership has allowed us to be a catalyst for progress across a range of issues impacting specific industries. We have targeted cross-sector challenges and opportunities including Nature, Carbon Pricing and Scope 3. And we have put a spotlight on single value-chains relating to industries facing a particular challenge, such as transport and logistics.
The outcomes of that work is consistently referenced against a shared support of the Paris Agreement and Australia’s commitment to it, including the objective to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
